Desperate characters is so much more that what i thought it would be. Its powerful writing flooded me with nostalgia and introspection. A story about everyone and just basic ongoing human existence intricately woven in a series of mesmerising epiphanies. Came from the mind of a true observer.
Plus sophie having a shot of whiskey on a Monday morning out of anticipation connects very well with the statement she made earlier about her father being half French and half alcoholic ..
Characterisation of Francis Early and Claire were enjoyable.
Late night stroll with Charlie would be my favourite part , as it was an act fueled by perfect balance of desperation and idleness.
Enticing read!
