This book is gritty and shocking, but you will be on Shirley's side as she decides she's not going to take it any more and starts remaking herself. There are times you'll laugh out loud at this feisty woman, and then wonder if you should cheer for a murderer. If you like action, suspense, well-developed characters, and can handle a little grit, you'll enjoy this book.
