“1917” is the worst war movie ever made. No real dialogue, no character development and a meaningless and boringly linear story line. The action scenes were few and less exciting than a day in Aleppo, Kandahar or Los Angeles. The gruesome shots of dead men and and horses were ghoulish rather than pitiable. A complete waste of time and money and comparing it to “Saving Private Ryan” is laughable.
