This movie is a fun and thrilling ride for anyone who goes in with the right expectations. Wanting massive chaotic fun should certainly be why you see this movie. When you see it, just sit and soak in the amazing monster ride that it is. While it can be campy and sometimes cheesy, that is what has marked Godzilla for decades. Of course there are inconsistencies and issues that will frustrate a movie goer... perfection in life is unattainable. However, fun and enjoyment are possible if one can suspend reality and not give into the desire to be picky.
As someone who rarely leaves reviews, it was obvious to me that way too many people take themselves and these types of movies way too seriously. Go see the movie and bask in the awesomeness that is Godzilla... be a child again and embrace the larger than life creatures. Sit back and be entertained by something bigger than the human race, and you’ll find yourself pulled into an experience you likely will never forget.
The alternative is to go in with a formed opinion that is based solely on preconceived notions and/or unrealistic expectations.
This movie does a solid job of paying homage to an iconic creature. It is an 9/10, not perfect but wonderfully entertaining.
