TLOU2 is the story of Ellie's struggle, torn by the truth and reality, but also struggling to forgive Joel. In the end, when she let go of Abby, she also forgive Joel. IMO the TLOU2 is still all about Joel and Ellie, with Joel absent from the reality but haunts Ellie till when she finally can forgive.
