911 Lone Star is a horror. It's the perfect example of what happens when an Indianan, a Bostonian, and a Californian get together and try to depict life in Texas.
I was originally excited to have an Austin version come out. That said, as a real life Austin, Texas resident I can tell you that in spite of loving the original LA-based 911 franchise, I just can't. This one gave up the ghost after a few episodes. We're talking CRINGE WORTHY.
I guess if you don't live in Austin, it might not bother you. But even the plot lines and accident calls are more cheesy in the Texas edition. And why even set the show in Austin if you don't include authentic Austin character and flavor as one of the key ingredients. Your idea of Texas is utterly stereotypical and appalling. It misses the boat on Austin by a mile.
As a tried and true Texan and a proud Austinite I'm really tired of being offended by this ridiculous show. It's pretty telling that Rob Lowe's onscreen yumminess can't even save this loser.
Easier to just turn it off.
