This was a game my wife waited for. We both were invested in Joel and Ellie’s story. Instead what it turned into was “woke” LGBTQ agenda so that the game developers could make good graces with that Nazi party. Just like where everything has been going. The cons were killing Joel by a transgender that honestly just copy and pasted the Glenn and Negan scene from The Walking Dead where it’s obvious this game takes inspiration from. The game also has uncomfortable killings of dogs, and pregnant women getting stabbed. Also the director felt he needed to mocap himself so he could bang out the roided up trans character that led no where with the rest of the story. The focus was so shifted onto Ellie’s revenge and growth that at the end it made no sense for her to walk away when she should have just killed Abby. Abby did more harm than good to warrant “letting her live” and revenge is a fools game cliche. I’ve also seen better female protagonists, Jill Valentine, Saemus, Claire Redfield, Cortana, Lara Croft. STOP PUTTING WOKE POLITICS IN GAMES! STOP CATERING TO AN OPPRESSIVE NAZI MINORITY! FYI Red Dead 2 has the same concepts. Vengeance, loss. Redemption. It built amazing characters without catering to modern day agendas. Oh and Sadie was also a STRONG WELL WRITTEN FEMALE CHARACTER.

This was my first “Souls” game, and let me tell you; it’s amazing. The gameplay, the builds, the environments from the Middle Ages to the pure Cosmic lovecraftian horror. It’s not a forgiving game, but it’s fair in the since if you screw up the game let’s you know. The only thing that sucks is the areas you have to jump precisely or your mount decides to chuck itself because it’s wonky controls. This is a game to experience even if souls games aren’t for you, because you can always leave an area, level up, and or level up a weapon/spirit summons. Each boss is engaging and amazing except for a few copy and paste enemies in certain dungeons.
