I saw this movie when it was originally aired. I have to say I loved it! The song, "The way that Christmas used to be" still makes me cry. I loved the fact that the boy in the animation had a pet Canada goose named "Lucy". Canada geese are my favorite water birds (even more than swans). The fact that the story somewhat parallels a visit from "three wise men", the aliens that ask about what Christmas is is such a sweet and innocent story. It seems that it was lost and because it was made in Canada, you never see it on TV, which is a shame. It's as good as other Christmas animations like the Grinch and Charlie Brown. I would recommend it to anyone who wants something "a little different". I only want to say that remember that it was made in the 1970's and may seem a bit dated to some. I'm 66 and I love it as much now as I did when I saw it back in 1977.
