Linda Honeycutt

Read the synopsis of this movie and put it on hold from my local library and waited for it for over a month. While it was a unique movie I really did not like it especially the end. Acting and scenery were great but the movie was too low key for me but I could have overlooked it had the ending been better. The whole premise of the movie is that a woman opens a book shop against the "advise" of the rich woman, becomes friends with the local recluse. The rich woman who even lied to her husband eventually got the woman evicted from the book shop and the recluse died and she eventually left the island. The only saving grace though was the little girl in the end who I would say deliberately set fire to the book shop so that it couldn't be used by the rich lady to open her Center for the Arts. My husband and I just sat there at the end and couldn't believe it ended like that but that was just me...........
