Wow that was confusing... but I guess it was entertaining? Sort of? Maybe? What just happened?
Several different series including the recent Witcher animated thingy feel like a formulaic take from the Castlevania series so it is hard to consider this as a really solid offering.
Feels like this was/is a serious lost opportunity.

Interesting idea, but terrible terrible terrible terrible writing. This comes off as a cynical attempt at steering the audience to the games as opposed to a serious attempt at... a, T.V. show? Short series? Hard to tell.
Like I began with; the idea of a Resident evil T.V. series with 10 or so episodes telling a compelling horror conspiracy narrative is a neat one, even has potential for multiple seasons for cheap! But I am now going to be very wary if I see something like this pop up again on Netflix.

With that acting ensemble "they" have no excuse for making such a terrible movie.
Yuck.
What a wasted opportunity.

Season 3 was brilliant. The vampire sisters were excellent, really fun, and I hope Netflix is smart enough to bring them back and make them increasingly cunning, cruel, and comical.
Highly recommended show.

Starts incredibly strong. Then fades, and yet still lands like a limp dirty rag discarded in the corner of a workshop. The singular end piece that should be a powerful capper that brings threads of plots together, sends us into another season, and produces a daring high instead lacks all emotional resonance. Will leave you with a fizzle like a smouldering fireplace filled with wet logs.

Finally, an actual zombie apocalypse. Not a "show about the absurd interactions between people with the zombie apocalypse as the backdrop." Everything about this was excellent. My only criticism is that it is a bit short. I wonder if this is just a "part 1" or the equivalent and they go the route of Sabrina and do a second season/part 2 in a year or a few months.
Netflix needs to do more like this; more visceral, truly bleak stuff.
