The doctors treat this disease with kid gloves when the need to be firm. We are told to treat addicts with tough love; they have a disease too however we are told to be stern and cut them off. Let them fall. Mental illness is mental illness. On this show the call hoarding a disease....a mental disorder. Well why is the treatment so different. Family and doctors need to be stern with the hoarder because they are not able to make those decisions, but neither can addicts. Both make decisions that hurt themselves and the ones that love them.
