Bullet Train is a great movie for people who don't take things too seriously. The contrast between the comical characters + a relatively straight-forward storyline, and number of unexpected twists that fits surprisingly well, without too many loose ends, is masterfully done. The main actor is man called Ladybug, super unlucky and an underground fixer/killer. But the story revolves around the many different parties (many of them are assassins) all happened to be on the same train, with different objectives and orders, and somehow all converges and collides. It makes sense as more information and back-story were revealed at the end, but I won't spoil it here. I found the movie truly entertaining from start to finish. Don't expect serious philosophical reflection of your life, but just some light-hearted action and lots of funny moments. I probably won't watch it again anytime soon, but it's certainly a 2 hour well spent.

We were looking for a movie suitable for whole family (incl 8 and 9 yo). Saw this on Prime Video and thought to give it a try. Well, I'm so happy that we did. Wonder is about a boy (named Auggie) who was born with facial disfiguration, and his first year in a school after being home schooled by his mum. At first, it feels like another one of those feel good movie, a boy overcoming huge challenges and difficulties, and with the support of his family and friends, excel and succeed in life. But what made this movie stand out, is when it start showing views/perspective of other people in Auggie's life, and retrospectively explained some of their actions. And that, greatly increased the depth of this movie. It goes beyond the surface by showing how others, appeared all happy on the outside, are struggling in their own unique way. That is what make this movie great. If you haven't watched this yet, I strongly recommend it. I'm usually a sci-fi, action type of person, but I truly enjoyed it.

1 star for all the action, 1 star for my loyalty of the series. The whole movie doesn't make sense. The plot is about US government shifting away from war, especially paying private contractors. So what do they do? the Vice President then commissioned the private contractors for an assasination of the President. Now the bits that don't make any sense: - they immediately assume the only survivor is the culprit of the planned assasination - 2 FBI agents were sent to investigate the private contractors, and the FBI agents just got killed like that. What's the point? What's to gain from that? - 3 suvs of private contractors managed to take on tens if not hundreds of secret service - all secret service's radio are jammed, but not the bad guys - and despite the president is locked inside the hospital compound and being heavily attacked, 1 helicoptor of the bad guy managed to land on the helipad? no lock down on airspace whatsoever?

A surprisingly well done movie. It depicts the clashes of ideas of the two popes in handling crisis faced by the Catholic Church. Both loves their God and church dearly, but took on very different approach due to their upbrining. The conversation and exchanges of words are the highlights of the movie. Anthony Hopkins is just so good!

Just finished this movie. To be honest, I wasn't expecting too much. But I love sci-fi and so decided to give it a try. Basically, the Earth is about to be destoryed as the Sun is reaching its end. So the solution? Push the Earth to another system. So after formation of the United Earth Government, they still building these thrusters around the Earth. Of course, there are things that didn't work out, which eventuates to people sacrificing themselves for their love one. A major part of the film was dedicated to transport the spark system to the thrusters, in order to restart them to maintain the thrust required. One thing they didn't explain though, is why are they not keeping these almighty important spark system next to the thrusters, but so bloody far away, that at some places, they need to use a plane?! Or they have to travel from Shanghai to Indonesia? Seriously, why can't you build a few more and have it automatically replaced? Otherwise, not a bad film.

The Umbrella Academy is a great sci-fi tv series that feels crazy at times, yet has one of the strongest character development I've watched for a long time. The series is based on 7 children who were born on the same day, adopted by a reclusive man to form the Umbrella Academy. Each of these kids have their unique, special power, yet everyone is broken. The power has not given them better lives, rather the opposite, are often the root of their pain. I particular enjoyed that 1 of the most broken 7, Klaus, it's also one of the nicest person, whereas others may appeared to be normal, crumbles as the story developes. The ending wasn't too surprising, with enough given away throughout the series, however, it is still a truly enjoyable tv series.
