I've been a fan of Naughty Dog games since 2001 with the release of Jak and Daxter The Precursor Legacy. One thing that everyone who loves video games knows is that Naughty Dog ALWAYS delivers, whether it's Crash, Jak, Uncharted, or The Last of Us. However, politics became a major factor into The Last of Us 2 making beloved characters from the previous game appear dumbed down from the first game. The gay, trans, feminist, and weed smoking characters feel forced and lifeless in the game. With hardly any connection to the first game, the story is a political mess. With new placement of random characters, it is such a disappointment to deter from the amazing duo of Joel and Ellie from the first game along with beautifully written side characters such as Tess, Bill, Henry, Sam, and David. The characters in The Last of Us 2 feel like they exist for the purpose of a political statement and have hardly any character development in the 35+ hour game. I don't know what happened in the Naughty Dog department in the 7 year gap between these two games, but I would STRONGLY suggest saving your $60 dollars.
