It brings both a magical sense of nostalgia along with a breeze of refreshment so for old fans it feels like the Awe all over again but in a live action show and for new commers it's beautiful, thrilling and soul touching.
I love how they didn't typically copy and paste everything from the original show yet they still kept the basics that defined ATLA (Avatar The Last Airbender) pretty well and as a result you are left with a great show all over again sending goosebumps and chills down your spine!
The characters chosen for the show, their personalities, their acting, it's all so beautifully entwined with the original ones captivating each scene and delivering them properly to all kinds of audiences.
The CGI used is actually looking pretty decent, it's not lacking at all and the movements for bending are as close to the original series with some fine adjustments to fit the live action criteria.
You don't expect everything to be the same when a 20 episode season is made into 8 but surprisingly the writers did a pretty good job to deliverer the original story without any major alterations along with adding fresh new character to it so that the 8 episodes feel as connected and complete while still taking it's time to develop every character adequately.
Totally recommend watching it!
