I only feel confident recommending this game due to its robust modding community. I've put a couple thousand hours into this game (yes thousand) and I'm very confident in saying that Fallout 4, despite its charm, is definitely Bethesda's weakest modern single player RPG. If it weren't for mods consistently fixing things, tweaking the game, and putting out new and interesting content, I doubt I would've devoted a fraction of the time I ended up sinking in. The base game is just too flat otherwise.
