I watched all episodes and the screenplay did not help this reimagined history of the Underground Railroad. I would strongly suggest reading the book. The story had too many open-ended plots. The main characters actions were portrayed to cause death and destruction everywhere she went; her character didn't have a great arc. There were long pauses for no reason. The sound editing was not great either. I had to turn on CC (Closed Captioning) to understand the dialogue. [I have family from the South I've visited there since the 1970's; I am well versed in AAVE.] Visually, absolutely beautiful during the day scenes. At night I couldn't see anything. I know they wanted the audience to feel like we are right there with them, but we're not, so brighter "Moonlight" would have sufficed. The Mother's character was weird "af"... she had no arc and it didn't make since. It was as if her child was an after thought. Too many liberties from the actual novel it's based on. WGN's Underground Series is a better choice, and it ran for 2-3 seasons is excellent!
