Terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible show. The writing is lazy and unfocused, the characters boring, the world hastily put together, and nothing makes sense. You get random unwanted info dumps and then try to be mysterious about plot points that really aren’t all that interesting or vital and tbh, no one should care about. They’ve tried to avoid the usual fantasy ideas, like with Scottish elves and such, but it feels very contrived. The whole thing is terrible, and yet somehow, it’s gotten amazing review everywhere and there’s a loyal fan base that seem to adore this awful, awful show. Doesn’t compare to The Last Airbender which was a masterpiece from beginning to end, and yet is constantly compared to it due to the writer. He clearly used his good ideas in ATLA because this felt like a compilation of his side notes, a gathering of all the stuff he didn’t get a chance to put into the old trusty.
