I'm a law student myself and I must say, nearly 80% of the drama was accurate which is quite good especially for a law-based drama. The actors did a great job in potraying their respective characters. It was tightly plotted and well presented. For the first few episodes, it can be a little hard to keep up with the storyline due to the usage of legal phrases and such but you'll get used to it as it progresses. You can think of it like a medical drama. And you will definitely learn a lot about the law too (I'm from a different country but I would say the basics are similar in most countries; after all, law is about truth and just anyway). Usually, people tend to assume that the law is only about crimes but the drama did touch on other fields in law such as defamation, constitution and other civil matters. However, I really wish they could have kept the court proceedings a bit more realistic and without any movie-like cliches but again, this is a series made for entertainment purposes and the scenes were necessary to maintain the tension, so they didn't really bother me much. Overall, a well done drama with good plot and great acting. You won't feel bored at all and I would say it's worth your time. However, if you know one or two things about law like me, you may pick up some flaws as you go but I think for the purpose of the stroyline and the overall objective of the series, we can ignored them and enjoy the series as it is. Kim Bum was an eye-candy here and of course, he did a really good job in potraying his character. I really loved Hye Young's character too. It was refreshing to watch such a character in a rather serious plot. All the supporting actors were perfectly casted and I can find no flaws on that. I personally loved Park Guen Tae (played by Lee Chun Hee). He was not really an important character to the main plot but somehow he always caught my attention whenever he appeared and it is a well written character. The drama presents a lot of lessons that are definitely needed and sadly some of the issues with the law that was presented were true and should be addressed in many jurisdictions and I was impressed that the writer did consider these factors deeply before putting it out. As I said earlier, this could have been a typical crime-based drama but it is a high quality law-based series. A well written one. The last line of the drama left a great impression on me: "Unjust law is the most cruel crime". This is 100% true and you will definitely understand this once you watch this drama.

One of the best dramas in Korean history I would say. Unfortunately, in a country which celebrated Parasite to a large extent, this was not celebrated as much as I thought it would be. In fact, if it was not for Lee Dong Wook, I would have not even considered to even watch the trailer of the drama. And let me tell you, I'm really glad that I did. I've watched this last year and always wanted to write a review about it. Probably you would have read other reviews and to be honest nearly all of them are true. The drama's technicalities were spot on. The background music, the cinematography, direction, well-written screenplay, tighly-plotted storyline and amazing cast. Everything was near perfection and just so you know, there are very few that actually nails all of this. Im Si Wan is an eye-candy in this drama. His simplicity and realistic potrayal of his character was what I would call as the balancer of this very unsettling drama. But that is also what makes the experience of watching this drama unforgetable. The character is too relatable, makes you feel every piece of the drama to the core. Then, there is Lee Dong Wook, oh my god, I really don't know how to describe his performance in this. He was amazing in this drama but kind of in a very bad way. The chills you get when he smiles while his eyes get bigger and colder, the way he looks so hot and sweet in his neatly-ironed long sleeve collared-shirt all the time is so unrealistic compared to what you will actually learn about him there. You will feel stuck as in, you want to escape from him, the story, the drama, you really want to avoid eye contact with him. But the moment you meet his eyes, as much as you want to close the tab, you will continue watching the drama as always no matter how unsettling it gets. It is that attractive and thrilling. Is it because of our curiousity or just the enchanting face of Lee Dong Wook? I don't know but you will not regret watching this drama. That's for sure. WARNING: I'VE NEVER IN MY LIFE WANTED TO WARN SOMEONE BEFORE WATCHING SOMETHING BUT THIS DEFINITELY NEEDS IT. THIS IS A PHYSCHOTIC THRILLER AND IT IS EXACTLY WHAT IT IS. MAYBE A LITTLE BEYOND THAT. THE EERINESS AND CREEPINESS THAT ARE PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT IS NOT BECAUSE OF SOME SORT OF MADE-UP HORROR OR FANTASY STORY BUT IT IS CREEPY AND EXTREMELY DISTURBING BECAUSE IT IS VERY REALISTIC AND IT CAN BE POSSIBLY HAPPENING ANYWHERE IN THIS WORLD RIGHT NOW. SO PLEASE DON'T WATCH IT IF YOU'RE NOT OKAY WITH THIS SORT OF REALISTIC, UNSETTLING THINGS. BECAUSE EVEN IF IT WAS JUST A POTRAYAL, IT WAS DONE PERFECTLY, HENCE MAKING IT TOO REAL.

Just finished watching the drama. I've watched few fantasy dramas before and I would definitely recommend this for those who either love Lee Dong Wook, Kim Bum or just fantasy-romance genre. If you are expecting it to be on a par with Goblin, this is not the one for you. The plot itself is pretty solid but it can be draggy sometimes and filled with typical drama cliches and cheesy dialogues; if you're someone who tends to give up easily in the middle of a drama just because it feels like a waste of time (like me), this drama can definitely push you to the verge of quitting it a few times. But other than that, Lee Dong Wook did a really good job as a handsome, cool and narcistic Gumiho, especially in the last few episodes but this is not his best work I would say. If you are really looking for a drama which showcased Lee Dong Wook's talent as an actor perfectly, I would highly recommend Strangers From Hell (Hell Is Other People) - this was a masterpiece but definitely not for the softies (p.s. it was very disturbing and unsettling). Coming back to this drama, another reason to watch this would be of course, Kim Bum. He made his character lovable and hateable at the same time and that's exactly what his character is all about. So I would definitely say he nailed this and I loved his performance throughout the drama. To be honest, he was pretty consistent than the other actors. Other than that, the main actress, Cho Bo Ah did fairly good and her talent shone during the last few episodes too. Other supporting characters were all perfectly casted and did a very good job. Looking from the fantasy perspective, this will make the top 10 list but nothing more or less than that. I would put it below Goblin and Uncanny Counter for sure. But the story is definitely something fresh and the romantic parts were okay (although it was a bit too cheesy for me). At the end of the day, for fantasy lovers and the actors' fans, this is a definite watch. But if you're someone who enjoys realistic and tightly plotted drama with good built, this is probably a skip. I would give it 7.5/10.
