An empty church, a silent prayer, running barefoot on a stolen wedding dress, endless tears and resentment filling Hong Kong’s streets. As the rest of the entire world seems to be against you, your world is reduced to her and the few ones you love. What it feels to be young, the streets and her eyes. It’s so shamelessly stylized with neon colors and overtly dramatic music, poignant gazes and gestures, big acts of romance and explosively frontal bursts of violence, everything is so sudden and intense, this movie is fire in the shape of teenage love and conflict. All that burning passion and all that burning anger, that juvenile emotional excess, such a youthful film. I feel like I could rewatch this a hundred times and it would still be as exciting as this first time.

The film is divided in two parts: 1st half in 1600s of Edo era and the 2nd half in 1800s of the Imperial Japan. The first half of the movie ultra violent nature of that hostile Edo rule depicting gore and horrific scenes might make your skin crawl. The graphic sexual vioalation on an inter-faith couple is quite unbearable to watch but is quite real as the Edo e era was known for it's violent faith based punishments which often involved rape and sexual slavery. The second half of the film tones down the violence a bit adding some dark humor and Black Comedy so as to show the society did progressed from it's Barbaric approaches of tortures or sexual violence to more humiliating approaches where the intention was to break them morally. The film certainly not suited for general audience because it would certainly lead you to depression.

With brilliant cinematography and lighting the Daredevil tells you a realistic crime thriller story where every character is layered and complex. In this age of pop- corn-superhero culture, Daredevil is a breath of fresh air as in this series we can see both the Antagonist and the Protagonist has the same objective but are on the opposite ends of the moral spectrum. To question your sense of morality ....... it's a thriller you must watch
