This is my first DenMei novel. I read the book right after watching the TV adaptation- The Untamed. I am so glad to get to know MXTX's works since. Although it is the story about good and evils, there were no true good/ evils in this story. The true evil in the story were constructed public opinions that were often manipulated by the people behind the scenes. It's the book talk about nature vs nurture, the politics and schemes and loves- the brother's loves and devotions as well as the love yarning someone's return after years of waiting. I have read many Denmei books after this- but I think MDZS will always stay a special place in my heart. It's a masterpiece- no matter if you are a Chinese or not, this will still touch your heart.
