Masterpiece? I HATED it and would have left halfway through if my bus was coming sooner and it wasn't so cold outside. Was I supposed to feel for the family - a cast of greedy and even murderous con artists that never displayed ONE redeemable quality in the entire film? Thought provoking? The only thought it provoked for me was, "Why did I waste my time and money on this shlockey, Tarantinoesque, turd of a film. I'm guessing this film will be most popular with a younger, more left-leaning crowd that thinks being poor absolves you of all obligations to human decency, and that being successful or wealthy makes one an unquestionable target for all the gratuitous violence one can heap upon them. The fact that this film is so popular is both telling AND worrisome.
