Okay I get it is a love story with the sci-fi AI acting just as an element, but come on man. At one point it just feels like he is talking to someone on the phone! The AI didn't feel like AI at all but rather like a real human being. And I totally get that in the future that would just be the case. But the transition that Spike did was too quick for us to even register that the AI was actually an AI. This totally takes out the theme of 'falling in love with an AI' which brings us to a regular love story which was NOT we started with. All credit to Phoenix for his acting but to be honest, it just feels like a regular old love story which you want to watch only if you really dig those cheesy ones.
