I understand it’s based on a true story, but the way it was portrayed didn’t feel believable at all. The characters were fine but not very deep. It feels very much like a more predictable ‘The Fault In Our Stars.’ I knew what was coming before it even happened, which was annoying. The Christian elements were placed in such a weird way too, very preachy and very much pushed onto the audience. I also felt a lot of the time that they were just aiming to get “that quote.” Like from ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ or ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’, where teen girls in particular found certain lines in the movies really resonated, it felt very much like they tried to force that into the movie.
I was bored, I didn’t believe or feel anything for the characters, and it all felt very fake.
