I need to preface this review by saying I was looking forward to watching this. I specifically booked @imax 3d to get the most out of my cinema experience. I paid £5 for my ticket thanks to my @odeoncinemas #mylimitless account. I have to say.....if I'd paid full price, nearly £20, I would have been quite agitated at what a waste that would have been.
A three word phrase came to mind when I was walking out, and that is that this film is "a confused mess". I wanted it to be good. I wanted it to look incredible. I wanted to really enjoy the performances. On every point I was disappointed.
The CGI had more ups and downs than an infinite rollercoaster. At times, it was incredible, but in other places it looked like an intern with no experience had rendered the scenes. It was a complete visual mess, with no clear cohesive thought behind it. The performances were all over the place, though given the issues when it was being made some of thatay be understandable. I was going to try and find a standout. But there really weren't any, but Manta was probable the closest thing. My only thought about the cast was that @yahya would make a superb replacement for Jonathan Majors as Kang.
Overall this was not a fun 2 and a bit hours for me. I didn't enjoy the film, and I actually begrudge paying for it. I can, in all honesty, say that I do not see a time I will ever watch this again by my own choice. It's getting a 2/5, with a recommendation to not go see it. If this is truly the end of the #dceu then it died in pain. #superheroes #movies #reviews
