Hands down the best game I’ve played in recent memory. Don’t mistake the torches and pitchforks for actual criticism of the game; people are mad the story didn’t play out the way they wanted, and that certain groups got a bit too much time in the sun for their liking. I’ve never been one to advocate for political posturing in video games, but what little exists in this game feels like a natural and unavoidable byproduct of the overarching narrative.. sometimes people can’t see the forest for the trees. The story is top notch, the voice acting is superb, the gameplay can be extremely satisfying if you play it the way it’s intended, and the visuals will have you frequently just panning the camera around to take it all in. Sound design and music are some of the best I’ve encountered in any game.. the music tugs at just the right heartstrings while firing a gun makes you almost flinch. Pro tip: play the game in shorter sessions; the subject matter can be overbearingly dark and oppressive and will take a toll on you. You’ll enjoy it much more if you consume it in bite sized chunks. Moral of the story: Play this game!!
