I watched this out of the blue with low expectations. Riveted from the start. Wonderful story, beautifully shot, never a dull moment and very well acted. Just wished the dog didn’t die. I hate it when dogs die. I wish dogs were like adaline.

One great film. Julia Roberts, Albert finney and Aaron eckhart were superb. A must watch film that compelled me to write a review for maybe the 3rd time. Brilliant!!!!

This movie was true to actual events. The mountain was the star, not the actors. Every shot of Everest looked legit. It’s great to see a movie that is well paced whose actors don’t make it all about them. Head and shoulders above any mountaineering movie I’ve ever seen.

Where to start? Quickly descended into a farce of a submarine movie. Gi joe was more realistic and gi Jane made more sense. Any quality of acting or effects or story was left below the thermocline where it could not be detected. For example when asw ship fires ‘rocket mortars’, they fly away from ship a fair distance then explode in the bow wave of launching ship?!? There’s so much rubbish in this steaming pile of film waste It’s difficult to list it all. What was Gary oldman thinking putting his name to this?

lame ending. Movie only saved by Portman who was predictably good. Half the other actors just dead panned their way through to the ending that left me scratching my head. I watched interstellar a few times to get it but the mysteries will remain on this one. Not going back there again
