I really loved “A Promising Young Woman;” as a matter fact, it’s one of my favorite films. But I thought “Saltburn” was a bust. There is a lot of ambiguity and lack of clarity in this and a lot of things just don’t quite seem to make sense. The main character’s motivations are muddled and unclear, whereas in “Promising Young Woman,” there is still a lot of nuance, but also a lot of clarity. Yes, “Saltburn” looks beautiful and the performances are solid, but this script and Barry Keoghan’s performance are off the rails. In my humble view, a big disappointment.

My favorite movie of all time. Director Bob Fosse reinvents the genre. Academy Awards for not just acting and directing but cinematography and editing. This film has not aged and is still quite powerful and packs a punch.

A lot of fancy editing and cinematography but the script sure needs a lot of work. Why is this girl so obsessed with winning? and the ending just does not make sense. Blah. I really got nothing out of it at all.

This is an amazing display of talent and exuberance, it’s really got me speechless. Thoroughly enjoyable. Quite a magnificent film.
