An in-depth look at Captain Cook's third and last voyage of 1776. This was the last hurrah for Cook, as he was killed at the big island of Hawaii. Frankly, I had a tough time putting this book down! The detail about Cook's personality, his extreme attention to detail, and the controversy with his engagement of native cultures all comes to the forefront with this book. Also, the loyalty his crew showed him was touching, and I won't spoil it for you what their reactions were like with his gruesome death. If you love nautical explorations, this treasure is a must.
