This is a high quality product, no doubt about it. The dialogue was good, no doubt about it. It's a great satire, again, no doubt about it.
The only problem it got 4 out of 5 stars from me is all the major characters portrayed: NONE of them has even a shred of redeeming quality.
None.
I guess that's the point the show is trying to make. And it's a satire. But I'm not sure about that.
For example, House M.D. (interestingly, Hugh Laurie) portrays a selfish, don't care to be nice or good protagonist as well, but he makes you root for him; hard. You understand where his bad behaviors come from; they have reasons, and though you don't necessarily agree, you feel for it. But in Veep, I found myself hoping all of them got what they deserved. Especially Selina. She should go to hell.
If people in DC are like that, this country is already going downhill.
Unfortunately, from the recent development, maybe there's some truth in it.
