My God, what a book, what a life, powerful, sad whirlwind. A man searches for mastery and achieves it in his own way at a tremendous personal cost. His paintings were mocked/dismissed as unlike the other photo-realistic oil paints of his time. But each stroke in most of his paintings brings forth the raw energy and beauty of the world like no other. His paintings have captivated me like no other, the irregular imperfections of the mind that seeks tirelessly for bettering an art that eludes, a struggle to the death. And to know that his life was no less heroic

This is a strange movie to rate, and on some level makes no sense. Mamooty acting out the dialogue playing on TV/radio in the liquor shop was amazing; along with the way the scene was shot. Overall great acting by Mamooty here. The other thing that stands out is the simplicity and frugality of life in Tamilnadu village. The importance of the moped signifies the importance of possession. And having seen as well as passed through these scenes in bus travels I could immediately relate to it. There is a great magnetism in the rural beauty and simplicity and the life; especially for city dwellers like us. The overabundance and the need for more and how life is lived with so much less are shown and contrasted in the movie beautifully. How a man's memory and character is transposed to another is as if the man is reborn in another man's body; however, I would rather like to have seen that in a sci-fi movie than in this strange way. Overall drawn to the simplicity and how in one moment a city dweller leaves all his worries and duties aside and starts a new short life is something that is pretty novel

I never have reviewed films before, and it is not my forte. Though a Malyalee, I enjoy hindi,tamil and English films, or for that matter any languages, Korean, Bengali as long as the film is good. And my God, this ranks as one of he best films I have seen till now; right there with the likes of Twelve Angry Men, Shutter Island, Inception and similar movies. Powerful and apt; Hero did a great job, the Villan better; Liked everyone's role, maybe the heroine could have improved a little more; Man needs something to hate, more than he needs something to love- the message was delivered perfectly. Pretty sure this movie will change the minds of many, and make the world a better place
