I used to like this show more and like others, am starting to get put off by its personalities.
To their credit, there are some great design ideas and colour schemes that are out there at times, and mostly work. Though colour is very subjective, but paint can be changed. I love their rescues. They seem to make it profitable and to do this with houses without getting burnt takes a lot of risk, skill and experience. They have all this.
Interesting dynamic between the hosts. I wouldn't like many of the comments about her on this thread said about me, but there is a bit of an imbalance there. A highly dominant female and an agreeable to her, easy going male, though I suspect he plays hard ball with those he hires and knows how to speak the language of tradies and builders. The episode I just watched finished off with him apologizing to her! For busting is guts and making the the renovation happen. She comes out right on all occasions and he does look like he is tolerating more than most would. Put Kortney and Jess together, and that's when I need to turn the volume down. Stunning ladies, just overbearing. I find them fake.
The eposode I just watched also had a building crew walk out. Why would that occur? Must be strong negative feelings towards someone here, and doing on a TV episode is significant. Read into this any way you want, but not a great reflection on the Wilsons.
Fixer Upper is mentioned here and there is an authenticity about the show that really works. This show on the other hand has its moments, is full of interesting ideas, but loses it a bit for me in the delivery. It is good overall and I would like to see new episodes.
My utter favorite person in this show is Jeff, the super cool Gardner. I love him. He is no nonsense and very genuine.
I am disappointed the show is winding up as I think it has good bones, but easy to tweak and improve small presentational elements.
