7.5 or 8/10! I’ve watched every single chucky movie (even the ones that look cheesy). I used to love them but at some point, I started to dislike the direction they were heading in. Needless to say, I was super skeptical about this new Child’s Play film. In fact, I frequently talked about how it would most likely suck and continued to do so for the first 30 minutes of the movie LOL. However; I was very pleasantly surprised!!! This is not the chucky we are all used to, and in order to form an opinion you have to enter the theater with an unbiased point of view (which I didn’t do at first lol). I thought it was pretty brilliant of them to go another route and form such huge differences between the original and the new one. I also love how they addressed the doll’s appearance and poked fun at it in the actual movie because so many of us were thinking the same things before watching the movie. Over all, I think it’s a must watch and it’s not necessarily better or worse than the originals, just different.
