Can’t even give this a grade it is so poorly done. One does not take a classic and turn it into a 20th century soap opera using contemporary vernacular and mannerisms.
I have read the book 3 times and seen all of the movie versions which at least respect the author’s tale. If you can’t do that while constructing your movie script, then write your own “classic”. As for strong performances, the characters are all shallow and don’t reflect Alcott’s descriptions at all.
Can’t believe the good reviews. They must have never read her book. I apologize to Miss Alcott.
Interesting that most attempts to replicate great films and books fall so short. Watered down to please the tastes of mediocre minds. Leave that to the Brits, and stick to action films, Hollywood.
Do I sound angry...because I am disappointed at the very least.
