Personally, I found this show to be compelling and worth my time. I understand that some people that work in the blind community have found some inaccuracies. However, this show opened my eyes to... well being able to open my eyes! It gives you an insight into what life might be like as someone who is blind. A show provoking any sort of empathic thoughts is worth it.
In regards to the plot, yes there is self deprecation but also a lot of love being shown. Murphy’s continuous search for Tyson’s killer is just a way of saying that she’s capable of caring much more for others than herself. Sure it’s not the most original storyline but neither is NCIS’s zillions of seasons of murder mysteries. But both shows make you feel good and keep your curiosity held. If you’re second guessing it, just do it.
