The way they portray Mia and Pearl in the series, compared to the books is awful. In the books Mia is portrayed as a warm, level headed and gentle person. Pearl, a sweet, curious and naaive girl learning the way of the world, along side her mother. In the series, Mia is cold and stern...almost the way Mrs Richardson felt in the books. I wish they rethought the approach a bit more.
