I read and was enchanted by this beautiful book when I was thirteen and it has resonated with me to this day some 50 years later. Like Hazel, I have always had tremendous empathy for all wild and hunted things, and can only be truly happy in nature. Gone To Earth is due for a comeback -- the values of the book are more in tune with today's environmental concerns than ever before and I think young people might appreciate it....
