7.5/10 - No "agenda's" in this movie unlike some reviewers have stated. The movie is for everyone and the message is relatable to both women and men alike. Captain Marvel is worth seeing and on par with previous MCU movies such as Ant-Man, Thor (1st one) and Captain America (1st one).
Breakdown:
I loved Talos. To me he, Goose the Cat, and Nick Fury (as usual), stole the show.
Now lets talk about Brie for a moment. I'ma keep this real. Her character had stages. Vers was boring. Carol / Captain Marvel was awesome... when not speaking. Lots of charisma in actions and especially towards the end of the move when she discovers what she's really capable of. But when she talked, across all stages of her character, it felt like CW show quality of acting or those random side characters in the Toby Maguire SpiderMan movies. More wood then a tree. I mean Captain Marvel's bestie and her daughter had better acting, showed more personality and were more interesting. And that's sad. So I hope now that her character knows what all she can do her real, fun, quirky, kick butt personality when actually speaking will come out during EndGame. Her real comic book character dynamic with some of the other Avenger personalities should be fun to watch, if Brie pulls it off! But that last 15 minutes of the movie, watching the true Captain Marvel do her thing was really really great! Like that Avengers 1, Cap 3 Civil War scene kind of great!
So in general I liked the movie just as much as I liked the other MCU installments mentioned above. The movie explained a lot for Guardians of the Galaxy and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D fans and the 2 end credit scenes tie directly into the Avengers.
Go see Captain Marvel! Can't wait for EndGame!!!!!
