After Hours deserves every praise it has received since its release. It's beautiful blend of neo-soul, R&B, pop and new wave help sell it as The Weeknd's best commercial release to date. After Hours is also The Weekend's most consistent record as it boasts an incredible array of 80s synths and new wave sounds that are present in the albums best hits such as 'Blinding Lights', 'Save Your Tears' and 'In Your Eyes'.
It also manages to sound somewhat edgy with fantastic tracks such as 'Faith', 'Alone Again' and 'Hardest to Love'. After Hours also works in some sad tracks such as 'Hardest to Love', 'After Hours' and 'Scared to Live' which all help to emphaise the albums themes of love, loneliness, addiction, lust, and heartache.
If you haven't listen to this album yet. Do it.
