“Breaking Into Phonic” by Patrice Barrett is a must read for every teacher and parent looking for engaging kid friendly strategies to support their children with phonics. The activities for enhancing students’ language and reading fluency are well suited for grades K through 3. The lessons are well paced and do not require expensive materials. That’s a winner already! I also enjoyed that it was a quick read, easy to follow, and a resource that I could readily suggest to my parents and know that they would be able to use it without any assistance from me.
