No Spoilers here, it was an good movie, sound production was amazing, and Nicholas Cage was awesome as well as Alicia Witt. However I feel that it couldn't make up it's mind what genre it wanted to be..thriller or supernatural, it felt like it wasba thriller and they decided to throw in the supernatural parts after.not that that's a bad thing, per se, but when you've seen as many horror movies as I have, nothing surprises you that much. Yes, it was overhyped and I guessed the ending around 30 mins in. If you're after a decent thriller with a bit of a supernatural edge then do watch, as I said Nic Cage gives a solid performance but if you're a seasoned horror buff I doubt you'll be even slightly freaked out. Also fair warning it's pretty gory for a 15 rated movie, turned my 17 year olds stomach lol

As is usually the case, this movie was being totally over hyped by people in the run up to this being released to streaming services (I watched it on Shudder). It does have some good moments, but if you're doing practical effects, they really have to look good, or they end up looking like a slasher from the 80's. It has an interesting plot, however I'd of liked more back story to the main character, they do lead you to think he's done something but don't actually go anywhere with it. It's a very slow movie too with not that much happening til around the halfway point. Very overhyped as I mentioned earlier, I've seen better effects and better storyline, didn't find it scary in the slightest. I've rated 3 out of 5 purely for the actors involved.

One of Mike Flanagans best works! It's a fantastic adaptation of Stephen Kings book too. I've seen a few say they couldn't stomach one of the scenes ***Spoilers ahead*** There is a scene where the main character de gloves her hand to get out of the handcuffs, but while it's fairly graphic I didn't find it uncomfortable to watch at all. The parts I didn't like involves a dog, that's partly due to me having a phobia of big dogs. All in all a great movie!

I watched the short of this movie a while back and then discovered they had made it into a full length movie! ***Spoilers*** Firstly if you were ever bullied growing up because of your weight, this movie may be triggering for you. The writer pulled no punches and the remarks are really upsetting and I felt so bad for Sara, I think, unless you've experienced bullying to some extent you'll probably think it's average, however you need to put yourself in her shoes. She gets no sympathy from her family, her mother is very strict and has no empathy for Sara at all, her father is slightly better but fails to stand up for his daughter. Even her younger brother makes fun of her. The whole town pretty much calls her fat and make jokes at her expense, so, when the killer stands up for her in a twisted kind of way, you can kind of see why there's an attraction there on Sara's part. The 2nd act does go on a bit too long but it shows the struggle Sara has, wanting to tell the truth, but also afraid to, because the killer is the only one who has stood up for her. She does do the right thing in the end, which is a nice little twist, as I thought she had killed her bullies. Laura Galán is amazing as Sara and all rhe actors were fantastic! I watched the original version in Spanish, and by all accounts, its better than the dubbed one. But I always try to watch movies in their original language anyway. All in all, I'd give it 5 out of 5, good direction, great writing and fantastic performances.

Not sure why people slam this movie because of covid being in it, that's the whole point of it! Funny how quickly people forget how bad it was at the beginning of the pandemic, I found this movie creepy, and unlike some, remember how claustrophobic and uncomfortable the lockdowns made me. Has a nice twist at the end and considering one person, wrote, directed, edited and composed the soundtrack, it's very impressive, it's also not the only movie to come from that time that has covid in, covid will be a part of our lives forever more than likely, and it's important to celebrate those creators who wanted to put work out to keep everyone entertained.

I rarely give horror movies a 5 star, I'm so desensitised as I've been watching horror for over 30 years. However, I didn't know much about this movie going into it and I think that helped *SPOILERS* I love everything about this movie other than the rather abrupt ending..the effects were awesome, its well written, has a lot of creepy moments, and the actors are all fantastic (Julian Richings in particular) The premise was awesome, an older couple who lost their grandson in a car accident want to bring him back so they kidnap a pregnant woman, who we find out, is Richings patient. These seemingly 'normal' people are satanists, who found a book that can bring back the dead, I won't go too much into it but what follows is a genuinely creepy tale of what can happen when people are so driven by grief and guilt they'll do anything. A lot of stuff happens in the background, in particular, there are 3 masks on the wall, that change the further the movie goes on, which some may miss if not paying attention. All in all, a solid move until the ending, I'd recommend watching in the dark for the best experience.

Scary if you're 10..spoliers..the 'gore' is laughable, a few cuts on someone's arm and a pull away shot when someone was getting burnt with a poker..and there's a ton of cheap cgi blood, didn't like any of the characters and the script was terrible, seen it all before..one part had people under sheets that was done in insidious chapter 2..a real waste of an hour and a half. As mentioned before pre teens will find it 'terrifying' seasoned horror fans will be bored. Watch the Saw movies instead.

*Some Spoilers* Terrifier 2 is OTT with the gore and its very much an homage to 80s horror, with its antagonist being super human a la Voorhees and Myers. It actually has a storyline and not that bad acting, unlike the 1st movie. I appreciated the extra hour runtime, although the 1st movie managed to squeeze a lot in in an hour and a half. The characters are pretty likeable, apart from the main characters mother, who I found to be unsympathetic and ridiculously strict. The death scenes do not disappoint and are pretty stupid and not at all realistic. But they're not meant to be taken seriously. If you're uncomfortable with gore you won't be able to sit through this despite the blood being the wrong colour (again a nod to 80s horror) All in all, a good, fun gore fest not for the weak of disposition or hardened horror fan...and don't turn off when the credits role..there's a nice little added scene, you'll thank me!
