Joaquin Phoenix is amazing. I entered the theatre didn't expect an emotional roller coaster that it causes and I left feeling impressed. The acting was mesmerizing, the story was unexpectedly strange yet intriguing, many beautiful shots and imagery. Watching this felt like we are involved in a major documentary about somebody with mental illness turns insane. It was also slightly confusing because throughout the movie you can't decide whether you want to root for this psychotic character, or you want to hate him for his unexcusable actions. Its beautiful, yet is sad... very sad.
