The hopeless note on which the movie ended ruined the experience for me. How do you spend the whole movie collecting information about a trafficking syndicate and then appear hopeless when they finally escape to Italy? Italy doesn't have an immigration police to work with? There has to be a part two.
At times, it came across as creepy and unsettling but in the end those emotions were part of a unique blend of factors that made this such a storytelling masterclass. The world is losing art, but art is losing the world too. Genius.
