Billionaire Bryt

The first episode had me pacing. I'm used to Kevin Hart playing weak characters so his initial reaction to extortion was a surprise. I pegged the main "plot twist" from the get go but enjoyed seeing how it all played out. I was annoyed with Snipes' character with giving Gene the watch b/c how could anyone not forsee that plan backfiring? I liked how Hart was able to show his acting range a bit, but the storyline seemed like he was only mimicking scenarios or emotional places he's been before. Surely, the overall project may have missed some things (like, a better explanation of why the bodygaurd put a $6M price on his services or why Todd wouldn't ask for any type of raise since "Kid" was being so generous or why he didn't check the girl's pulse to begin with or why he didn't confide in the one dude who clearly has had his back and his front or the loose end plot behind Billie and her comedy career), but it was enjoyable. There were still some stunning moments that displayed spurts of Kid's resolve to not be taken advantage of. The acting on Hart's part was quite believable, making me wonder just how much he may connect with the character and how we will never know. Love a good mystery and looking forward to reading and discussing the pains of being rich and famous presented in this series.
