If you love Tarantino, you'll probably love this. I sure did.
If you don't love Tarantino, you'll probably hate it, but you should also probably ask yourself why you keep watching Tarantino films.
Note: don't take your kids to it, and don't take impatient folk to it. If you're into longer stories with a ton of character building, you'll probably adore this the way I did. If you have trouble enjoying slow-paced movies, you're going to be tearing your eyes out and shoving them in a blender. Easily bored kids are about the worst mix with this movie for a multitude of reasons, but this applies to easily bored adults who are on the squeamish or easily bothered side. But again, it's a Tarantino flick, masterful in production but full of all that which makes a Tarantino film tick. If you hate those aspects, this one will kill you.
It's got a semi-similar pace to Inglorious Basterds, though much less violence (but don't worry, Tarantino delivers there too) and much more character portrayal. One of those films that takes a while to be digested, but you'll want to see it again once you've gotten over thinking about it the first time.
It's up there in my favourite movies, now. Just make sure you come to it with a patient attitude and appreciation for the portrayal of a romanticised 70's era.
