I like her designs, but as a landlord I was cringing at some of the things that got painted. I don’t allow my renters to paint for this very reason! Carmeon painted baseboards, wall trim, doors, cabinets and even floors! As for putting things back they way it was rented to them, it would be extremely time consuming to remove paint and put these things back to the natural wood so it is neutral to fit all renters. They also did a lousy paint job! Have they ever heard of prep work and tape? There’s paint visible on things there shouldn’t be… like floor paint on the walls!
And if a renter moved an electrical outlet, they’d be evicted and sued. If not done properly they could burn down the entire property! Renters: Don’t attempt to do ANYTHING without approval first.
And I’m sorry, but I don’t know of any landlord that would let you remove built in features like cabinets and kitchen islands. Maybe they should come create a spin-off show where landlords tour the spaces (aka property they actually OWN) and give their true feedback (not phony excitement).
So while I like watching the show for the design aspect, it is VERY UNREALISTIC.
