This is a genuine review on the contents of the book, from the p.o.v of someone who didn't previously know anything about the author.
Bottom line: the book is mildly entertaining, probably most enjoyable by 10-16 year olds, but still somewhat entertaining for adults.

All of these 1 star reviews say the same thing- that the author is pretentious, that the book reads like a Twitter feed, and that the author is stealing publishing opportunities from serious poets.
Seriously, did you all listen to one person's take on this book and then feel inclined to come over and rewrite their opinions as your own just to give this book an awful rating?
The book is clearly front-loaded. The best poems are in the first 1/4 of the book. After that, you're not going to find any new "tricks" or unique themes/ideas. The writing style is consistent and clearly defines the book as a recent release as it uses chatspeak/slang. It is an easy read that you can flip through in one sitting. You won't find yourself sitting after any of these poems to ponder meaning or bask in the artistic quality. They are surface level and say what they mean.
I don't agree with criticizing the writing for the sake of not being "real" poetry. To the people saying that - what makes you an authority on poetry? Bashing poetry on the point of deterring from the expectations of "the classics" is silly, and it puts a restraint on the art form as a whole. You can formulate a genuine critique of this book and say that the writing lacks depth, that the author sounds illiterate, that it very clearly doesn't take itself seriously, the author mocks herself, and the author targeted the wrong audience/age group (young adults, where tweens would be more appropriate) but to spout the same thoughtless nonsense just because everyone else is doing so doesn't make for a credible review.
If you're considering getting this book as a gift for someone young, go ahead. If you're considering it for yourself and you're an adult, just read a few poems at Barnes and Noble and see if you like them. If you don't like the ones in the beginning, then you won't be entertained by the rest of them.
