I’m wildly disappointed that this series was canceled. It was superb start to finish. I think the problem may lay with the way it was marketed - people were expecting an action series and got a heart-rending drama instead. I loved the space elements and it’s clear that season two would have been very heavily space-focused, but season one was all about introducing the audience to rich, authentic characters, which takes time. I particularly thought the relationship between Sean Penn and his daughter was next level in its authenticity. I’d never heard of the actress who plays Denise, but she’s incredible. This show definitely deserves your time and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that another network will pick it up to continue the story.
