Both ANR and Savithri took their roles as challenge . As per ANR 's interview with AIR ,when he viewed the initial rushes of the film he was not much satisfied ,since his face lacked the drunken appeal. He then requested the director Vedanta Raghavaiah to reshoot those portions, and the later readily agreed. So the shooting went past the midnight after a sumptuous meal. It worked wonders . The sleepy eyes of ANR at that time resembled that of a drunkard. Such was the dedication in every department of movie artistes those days
