PONNIYIN SELVAN-2 . Maniratnam play a spoil sport by giving wrong message ? Ponniyin selvan-1 was a good movie with slight variations from the Kalki's novel. With the same expectation I went to the Ponniyin Selvan- 2. It was a great blunder. Maniratnam really assassinated the characters. People who knows the real history, would have a slight disappointment with kalki' novel. The reason for that was the fictional character Nandhini, Madhurandakan(fake)were given too much importance. However due to intriguing factor it was accepted by the tamil readers all over the world. Two important irrelevant, illogical, ridiculous flaws by once a great director Maniratnam.1)Aditha karikala a brave warrior killed himself (suicide) just for the fictional character Nandhini. 2) Maduranthaka (fake) was crowned as the chola king. As per Kalki's novel, Real Maduranthaka ( Sendhan amudhan) was crowned as king. Real History: There is a Shiva temple called Anantheeswaram at udayargudi near Kattu Mannargudi in Cuddalore district, Tamilnadu.
