If you could take the best parts of the 80s Dune and Dune 2021 you would have an incredible movie. Instead we have two very good ones. The Baron was way better in the old one and the dialog was easier to understand. 2021 is a beautiful film. The Fremen are better. Both great movies. The source material is so complex that you almost have to read the book to understand what the f is going on. Both well worth a watch. Can't wait for part 2.

Borrows a lot from The Exorcist to the point where it's a little too predictable. I'm not a fan of found footage horror. It's unnecessary if there's a good story to tell. This could have worked much better as a proper drama and slower pace. That slow burn films like Psycho, Halloween, and The Exorcist could have really worked well instead the rapid pace makes it less scary. Still it was a good idea, kind of a swing and a miss.
